San Diego Zoo

In April, Robbie and I went to the San Diego Zoo. This place is huge! It took an entire day to cover the grounds. I was exhausted. I really enjoyed their skyride. It takes you from one side of the zoo to the other while showing you an amazing view. Hopefully, we'll go back sometime to see the Wild Animal Park and Sea World.

Disneyland!

I haven't updated our blog in a while. I'll try to catch you up.

Back in the Spring, we went to California Adventure with Ben and Liz. California Adventure is part of Disneyland - just a separate park. It's more focused on "California" - hence the name. They have a pretty cool ride called "Soarin' Over California". It feels like you're flying over the entire state of CA. We rode the Tower of Terror, Maliboomer, California Screamin', got wet on the Grizzly River Run, and watched a 3D Muppet movie. It was a great time with great friends!

The next weekend, we went back to Disneyland. Ben and Liz couldn't join us this time because they found out they were expecting a baby! Rollercoasters and pregnant women don't mix well. :)

It was surprisingly chilly that day - lots of overcast. Our favorite ride was, of course, Space Mountain! I loved that ride when I was 5 years old and I still love it today. We saw Mickey and Minnie's house, toured a haunted mansion, took an adventure with Indiana Jones, boated throuth the Pirates of the Carribean, and ended the night watching some spectacular Disney fireworks.

Robbie was scared of Splash Mountain.....

.....I wasn't!

Happy Birthday, Jessica!

Jessica turned 25 this year. Time really does fly by. We celebrated by having a combined birthday/anniversary dinner at Engine Co. No. 28 in downtown Los Angeles. The atmosphere was interesting. It's a really old firehouse that has been restored into a restaurant. The food and service were both great!

The next day we went to Temecula to see our friends Ben & Liz. We spent the afternoon getting the dogs to like each other. Once we took them for a walk, they seemed to warm up to one another. Jack could learn a few things from Tex and Gracie.

We decided to spend the evening at the Pechanga Casino on one of their Indian reservations. I have to say it was much nicer than I expected. It kind of reminded me of the Beau Rivage. We thought about going to Las Vegas, but decided to "practice" at this casino first so we don't blow it in L.V. :) Vegas comes later. So we lost a little money, won it back, and dined at Kelsey's afterwards. Great chicken kabobs! Robbie and Ben stuffed themsevles with 1 pound burgers, and the honey butter was awesome. :)

The next day we went to church with the Fritz's, drove around the inland empire, saw some mountains, and got some local milk at the Beaumont Dairy..."milk from cows not treated with hormones". This town actually reminded us a little of small town Mississippi.

On Jessica's actual birthday, she got lots of gifts, cards, and her very own ice cream cake! It's not Jessica's birthday without ice cream cake (in the middle of winter).

The New Year

We got to see Ben & Liz again! It's always a pleasure when they visit. There's no better way to start out the new year than with friends.

Christmas Vacation 2007

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! We spent Christmas with our family in Mississippi. We had a very nice 10 day vacation and got to see most all of our friends. It's always nice to catch up with everyone.

Jessica with the two happily engaged couples at Andrea's Christmas party

Andrea and Jonathan were nice enough to host a Christmas party at their home with all of our friends the night we got into town. We had so much fun seeing everyone. Corey finally graced us with his presence after being in Seattle for a while.

Delaney Jewel Jordan @ 4.5 months

Delaney was born on August 16, 2007. Fortunately, we were in Mississippi at the time while were in transit from Atlanta to Los Angeles. We got to spend one day with her before moving to L.A. You can imagine our surprise when the next time we saw her she was 4.5 months old. She's a might cute baby, and we love her very much. I hear from the momma that she is now scooting around the living room. Not yet crawling, but she will soon enough.
